Entries from November 2007

2-0 last night, a good way to start the weekend. As I said , Brett Favre is No Troy Aikman. Troy won more games and more championships. He didn’t need to hurl hundreds of TD passes, because his team was rarely behind- Like the Packers. And They lost again in Dallas last night. IN the NFC it’s looking like the 90’s . The Packers cant beat the Cowboys, the Cowboys have trouble with west coast teams (Seattle now, SF in the 90’s), and the Seahawks have trouble with the Packers. It’s all going to come down to who plays who and when .
On Saturday, I have to think Army will give an effort, I bet the Cadets +14.5, Everybody in the world is taking Virginia Tech, but the Hokies have lost 3 straight to the Eagles. I bet Boston College+4.5, I won’t be surprised if Missouri wins, But Oklahoma is in familiar territory, and the tigers have had their heads in the #1 cloud all week. I bet the Sooners-3. The Wolfpack have been good to me all year, take Nevada-7, I also have Central Florida-7, & Central Michigan -3 to win the MAC.
Moving to the Pac 10, Take Stanford+14, while up north, Oregon has not done well in November, but I think they have more talent, and getting them as +1 at home is to good. Jonathan Stewart has a good day, Ducks+ 1 is the play. I also don’t think Washington has anything left, Tyrone will be fired soon, and as much as I’m rooting against Hawaii, I have to bet the Rainbow Warriors -13.
I will check the numbers on Saturday, if I get the right ones, I will get on the USC/UCLA game , Tenn/LSU, and AZ/ASU.
UPDATE : UCLA is getting too many points in this game , and although USC should win, I cant reccommend anyone lay 20 points, So I will take the +20.5 with UCLA. I have Arizona State-6.5, And in the SEC I will take Tennesse +7.5

I hope to the gods that it is… I just prefer football on Saturday, Sunday and ONE game on Monday. The Monday play on the Dolphins, won easy-I already discussed tonight’s NFL game earlier, and in college, as with the pros, the home teams have been winning in the high 90 percent range, So I have Louisville-2..

First of all I need to remind everyone to bet Saturday’s games early, getting the right number is very important. Today on the strip, I already bet The Cowboys-6, for Thursday, and I bet the Pitt panthers +29 against their rival West Virginia. The Packers will be coming in limping, and afraid of Dallas, and the Cowboys are just a better overall team, There is no way Brett Favre was ever better than Troy Aikman. Count the rings, and check the head the head matchups. Meanwhile in college, The Mounties will be under all sorts of pressure and hype, and 4 TD’s may be too many. And I can’t forget that killer performance at S. Fla.
The BCS is doing an excellent job sorting things out this year. My own opinion, is that USC and Georgia are playing the best football right now, but two losses are two losses. I also said at the beginning of the year That I though USC and Georgia should meet for the title. They play in the best conferences, whom beat each other up weekly. But they all know the drill, and they all know you can’t lose two games. So , I am predicting Ohio State, I dont know who they will play, perhaps after this weekend, USC may be the best team left.
The BCS is contolled 2/3 by the polls. If the voters wanted USC and Georgia, they just have to vote them 1-2, and vote the others below 10, and the polls can then manipulate the formula, so the teams you want come out on top. If Mizzou and West Virgina get voted 2oth, their stock falls in the formula.
Tonight in the NFL tonight, I can’t lay 2 TD’s in the rain- Unless it’s the Patriots. I will take the value with the Dolphins +16.5.

Its a busy day, and a busy weekend on the strip, the tourists are throwing the betting lines out of whack, but there wrere some good values this morning. Clemson is deflated about not being in the ACC race, so I got South Carolina+3. Earlier this week, I already bet UCLA + 3 at Caesars, & Georgia-3.
Kansas can’t handle the pressure, Tigers win BIG, I bet Mizzou+2.5, and Connecticut +21.5, Oklahoma State+14.

Yes It’s Apple Cup Week! The U-Dub has dominated this series early, overall and lately. Oh sure the ugly cougars win a game here and there, Huskies have won 7 out of the last 10, and 64-29-6 overall. I bet UW-5.
As for the Fridays early Games, I bet Colorado-3 , Alabama+7( sat), & I also got Wyoming +4 to win the Bronze Boot, Everyone is taking LSU driving the line on the strip way too high, I got Arkansas +13, early today (Friday).
Friday Update: Noon PST: I got Texas A& M +7.5,
I will have another update on Games for tonight and Games for Saturday, later.
3:30pm Update PST, At least les Miles can take the Michigan job now, without having to worry about the BCS championship.
Tonight I bet Hawaii-2. While early Saturday I already bet Ohio over Miami OH- PK, Boston College-13, Kentucky-2, New Mexico -12 & Virginia +3.5

I’m always thankful for football on Thanksgiving. lately the Lions have been horrible on Thanksgiving. Mainly because their teams have been bad. The Packers aren’t much better on Thursday, either, 0-4 in their last outings. There is the turf thing, as well. Everybody wants to be on Brett when watching TV. the Lions are actually right around .500 over the past 30 years on turkey day, and getting points is good. I bet The Lions +3.5.
The Cowboys are playing well, but I think the Redskin game beat them up. Dallas is not running it up like the Patriots, and the line is just too high, to lay this with the Cowboys. Cowboys should win by 10, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they get caught sleeping. I bet the Jets +14.5. I’m still waiting to bet the USC/ASU game. I will do that after dinner Thursday.

OOPS! he did it again! For the second time in one season, this ESPN radio douche-bag or “shrutebag” picked two sides of a game. Earlier this year he picked BOTH Florida and Kentucky. :
http://footballjesus.wordpress.com/2007/10/19/colin-cowherd-now-picks-both-sides-of-games/
Today , after he already picked ASU to upset USC, he comes on the radio and picks USC. So Like John kerry, he actually picked ASU to win, before he picked them lose. Integrity? No. By the way is Colin wearing a woman’s jersey here? It seems a bit tight , even for a whimpy guy like him.
No matter who wins, he will be barking on Monday how he got it right. I guess he has to do something, last week his college picks went 2-2, the week before 2-4.

When ESPN started its morning show”Cold Pizza” now called “First Take” it was fun, entertaining, and had Kit Hoover for us to look at. She was worth waking up to every morning. well, the show has gone through so many changes, Jay is the only original still on the show, he must be the only one to have a good agent and a good contract. I have tried to watch this show recently, but can’t get past this host Dana Jacobson. How did she get on TV? Is she related to someone who hires at ESPN? Whats with that hair style? Did she lose a bet with Jay? That’s the hair she has chosen? Really? ESPN Bottom Line: Kit Hoover is Hot… Dana, Not
Can we please get Kit Hoover back?
